La Garde Freinet

La Garde Freinet is an old picturesque town divided in two halves.
The old part of town dates from the around the 16th-century with the St.Clément church in the centre and has little narrow streets.
It sits beside the D558, the main road between the A8 and the sea side villages like St Tropez, Cogolin and Grimaud.

The new part of town you will recognize by the wider streets.

The first official name of the town was registred as Fraxinetum Guardia .

The town is surrounded by the rocky hills of Massif des Maures and forests of oak.
